All Saint’s Day, also known as All Hallows’ Day, was celebrated in Churches in this country, this year on 1st November. Marking this Day provides an opportunity to remember those who were a positive influence in our lives as we were growing up, our parents, family members and other good honest folkto whom we owe so much as they led us to faith in Jesus Christ our Saviour.
By their lives and witness, they were saints. We also remember and give thanks for those Saints ‘ Spiritual Heroes ‘ who have gone before us, they who took
a firm stand against oppression and injustice and preached the Good News of Jesus Christ with its promise of forgiveness and everlasting life.
Not only did God choose them and use them but they allowed the spirit of Christ to grow in them. As a result it is easier for us to believe in Christ
because of them. We are encouraged by their example and strengthened
by their fellowship, we thank God,” for all the saints, who from their labours rest.”
