On 17th April this year, I was to have a planned Hip Replacement, but of course, due to the pandemic is was postponed. There was good news today, that as from 31st August, elective surgery will start at the Borders General Hospital. I may be one of the lucky ones!! To be pain free will be a great bonus.

When we look at Jesus, in his short life, the suffering he had to endure was beyond belief, both physically and mentally. Jesus’s life was characterised by suffering, though the worst experiences were reserved for his final days, from Gethsemane to Calvary. Because Jesus was willing to suffer and die, you and I are free to live, all he asks in return, is that you love him and live for him. We experience each and every day of our Christian lives, the love of a God that cares for each and every one of us.

“Take my life, and let it be, consecrated, Lord, to thee,

Take my moments and my days,

Let them flow in ceaseless praise”.
