Guild News 2nd August 2020
When I look back on my childhood, we had very simple pleasures and amusements.
Not even a television when I was very young. We played board games, read books
and played out doors a lot. All good fun and happy memories. No mobile phones,
WiFi or Facebook. We are very grateful for technology at this time but there were
good times before and there will be good times to come. Nobody likes change but it
will happen in our Church, Guild and in our Community, but we will adapt as the
good Lord guides us to the next path in our lives. In Lamentations ch. 3 it says, “But
this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope, the steadfast love of the Lord never
ceases. His mercies never come to an end: they are new every morning , Great is
your faithfulness” Great is thy faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies I see,
All I have needed thy hand hath provided, Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me.
Miss Mary White, a loyal and generous member of our Guild, sadly died in October,
2019. With the bequest that she kindly left to the Guild, a small Lectern is being
made by Ian Brotherston in Mary’s memory to be used at the Guild Meetings.
